Valle Aurina Clean Air Area

Surrounded by over 80 three thousand metre peaks and at an altitude of between 1,000 and 3,500 metres above sea level, the air is so pure in this high Alpine location, it has even been officially recognised as such. It's no wonder that allergy sufferers, asthmatics—and basically anyone longing for fresh mountain air—immediately feel better here. And because the Valle Aurina has so much fresh air, this long valley in the Rieserferner Ahrn Nature Park can call itself a clean air area. Every walk, every mountain hike, every break on an alpine pasture is a reset for mind, body and soul with a healthy dose of fresh air. And the Valle Aurina not only boasts exceptionally pure air high up in the mountains, but amazingly deep underground! In the old Prettau climate tunnels, the air is so pure that it has been proven to have a positive effect on respiratory diseases. And when it comes to water, the Valle Aurina has a wealth of resources: with 120 drinking water springs, 35 mountain lakes and ten waterfalls, there’s so much discover.
